  • Hardware, consisting of all the computer equipment used for the management of database systems, such as:
    – Equipment for storage of the data base, the secondary storage
    – Input and output devices
    – Data communication equipment
  • Software, Functioning as an interface between a user with physical data in the database.
  • User or users, user database is divided into three classifications, namely:

Database System Advantages :

  • Reduce data redundancy, ie the same data stored in data files that are different, so updates are performed repeatedly.
  • Prevent inconsistencies.
  • Data security can be maintained, which can be protected from unauthorized users.
  • Data integrity can be maintained
  • Data can be used together
  • Provides recovery
  • Facilitate the application of standardization
  • Data independence

Disadvantages Database System :

  • Plenty of storage space required
  • Skilled labor required to manage data
  • Expensive software
  • Damage in the database system can affect the departments concerned.
